Rural Youth Rise in Regional Science Congress

Passion for knowledge always runs with boundless enthusiasm. It always ignite passionate mind. Which always help the individual to conquer all the hindrances in this journey. That exactly happens recently in Bangalore. Nearly 145 rural students from Andhra, Kerala and Karnataka dazzled Bangalores scientific fraternity with their innovative thinking.

Students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas and Government Schools participated in the Regional Science Congress at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in the city. The four-day seminar from October 3 to 7 was jointly organised by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, a Government initiative for specialised schools of science and math in rural districts, and the Centre for Counselling and Support, IISc, Bangalore.

In this seminar these students made presentations on science ranging from Nano-technology to particle physics, enthralling great scientific personalities from the country.
Seven children won accolades for their scientific bent of mind at the end of the Congress.
Jayaraj from Shimoga, Appala Anil from Karimnagar, Sreejith from Kasargod, V Naveen from Kolar, Goudappa Patil of Gulbarga, Princi Joy from Eranakulam and E Avinash of Guntur won prizes for the Best Scientific Students category.
