Perform & Prove the New Catch Word for Prisoners

Crime is a situation which made an individual to a criminal. But the solitary confinement of jail gives him much time to reform himself and prove their hunger for knowledge to educate themselves. It is true in the case of Bihar.

A sensational study revealed that some of the states most notorious criminals are also good students. They came out with very good result in the Bachelor-Level Examination of the IGNOU. The study found that altogether 15 prisoners of the Beur Central Jail (BCJ) here, all charged with murder, appeared in different examinations of the IGNOU in 2004. Surprisingly, all of them did brilliantly in the examination.

The most interesting finding of this study was these 15 prisoners had chosen Human Rights as one of their subjects. Keeping in the mind of the interests of the inmates, this year IGNOU has sent a large number of admission forms to the Beur Central Jail as well as other prisons. Now the overwhelming jail authority sent a proposal to the state government to open information centre of IGNOU in jail so that the inmates can gather information about various examinations.
