The picture is now clear for the final battle of the JNU Student Union election after the withdrawal of nomination. On October 17, the Election Committee of JNU officially announced the final candidates list for election.
This year nine candidates are in the final fray for the prestigious president post. Current president Mona Das is a front runner for this hot seat, who is contesting from the All India Students Association. Other candidates who are in the fray of president post are like Sona Mitra (SFI), Umesh Kumar Singh (AVBP), Ninad Shankar Nag (NSUI), Yaraonsho Ngalung (Students Alliance), Arvind Kumar (Independent), Laxman Singh (Samajwadi Chatra Sabha) & Mohammad Hafeezur Rahman (Students Voice).
The candidates contesting for the post of vice-president are Dhanjay Tripathy (SFI), Kanika Singh (AISA), Vijay Kumar (AVBP), & Mohammed Maruf Hussain (NSUI). For the post of general secretary the candidates contesting are Amit Singh (AVBP), Awadesh Kumar (AISA), Suman Sonkar (NSUI) & Fauzan Abrar (AISF).
