TNPSC 2008 Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission was set up in 1923 and since then the last 75 years have been glorious for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Each Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission examination is held for admission to various courses and this time the exam is conducted for admission to the post of Horticultural Officer.
Important dates:
1. 3rd week of September – availability of application forms.
2. 3rd week of October – last for the submission of completed application forms.
3. 21-12-08 – date of entrance examination and the timings will be from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The age of the candidate should be less than 30 years.
2. The age limit is upto 32 years if the candidates hold a post graduate degree.
3. There is no age limit criterion for the SC/ST candidates.
Examination pattern and syllabus:
1. Duration of the examination is 3 hours.
2. Maximum marks of written exam will be 300 and oral test will be 40.
3. The exam will be conducted in two parts.

BEE 2008 Bureau of Energy Efficiency National Productivity Council
On behalf Bureau of Energy Efficiency National Productivity Council (NPC) is the National Certifying Agency which conducts examination for the post of Energy Managers and Energy Auditors and this examination by Bureau of Energy Efficiency is national level certificate examination.
Important dates:
1. 20 oct 2008 – last for the submission of completed application forms.
2. 22 Nov 2008 – paper-1 — General Aspects of Energy Management & Energy Audit examination and the timings will be from 9:30am to 12:30pm
3. 22 Nov 2008 – paper-2 — Energy Efficiency in Thermal Utilities examination and the timings will be from 2:00pm to 5:00pm
4. 23 Nov 2008 – paper-3 — Energy Efficiency in Electrical Utilities examination and the timings will be from 9:30am to 12:30pm
5. 23 Nov 2008 – paper-4 — Energy Performance Assessment for Equipment and Utility systems (Open Book) examination and the timings will be from 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Eligibility criteria:
For Energy Managers (EM):
1. The candidate must have a graduate degree with atleast 3 years of experience.
2. Or, the candidate must have a post graduate degree with atleast 2 years of experience.
3. Or, diploma with atleast 6 years of experience.
4. Or, PG in physics, chemistry or electronics with 2 years of relevant experience.
For Energy Auditors (EA):
1. Same as EM
2. Same as EM
3. Or, graduate with PG degree in management or technology

1. To qualify as EM, the candidate has to clear paper-1, 2, and 3 with a minimum of 50% marks in each examination.
2. To qualify as EA, the candidate has to clear paper-1, 2, 3 and 4 with a minimum of 50% marks in each paper.

SSC 2009 Observer Officer in Aviation Cadre Indian Defense
SSC stands for short service commissioned officer. This selection procedure is conducted for the men and women who are not married and wish to join Indian navy as observer officer in the aviation cadre of executive branch.
Application procedure for SSC
1. The completed application form in correct format must be mailed to Post Bag No. 03, Chanakyapuri Post Office, New Delhi – 110 021 via normal post only latest by 10-10-08.
2. The candidate also needs to enclose his attested class 10th certificate along with application.
3. Based on their performance in the recent examinations, the candidates will be short listed and will be called for interview.
4. The interview will take place in 2 stages over a period of 5 days during Feb to April 2009.
5. Stage 1 of the selection procedure includes intelligence Test, Picture Perception test and GD
6. Stage 2 includes Psychological Tests, Group Task and PI.
7. Finally the candidates need to clear a medical test for getting through to become a trainee.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The only eligibility criteria is that the age of the candidate must be between 19years to 23 years born between 02 July 1986 and 01 July 1990.
2. The candidate must be unmarried at the time of applying for the course and must remain unmarried atleast till commencement of the examination.
3. The candidate applying for the examination must have physics and mathematics as the compulsory subject in the 12th examination.
4. Only graduate candidates with atleast 55% marks in any field can apply for the examination.
Physical requirements from the candidate:
1. The minimum height for both the male and the female candidate is 162.5cms and the corresponding height to weight ratio, leg length, sitting height, thigh length.
2. The candidate must not be colorblind and bight blind. The eye sight should also be 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6.
SSC 2009 Officers in Indian Air Force Flying

Eligibility criteria for SSC
1. The eligibility criteria is that the age of the candidate must be between 19years to 23 years born between 02 July 1986 and 01 July 1990.

3. Only graduate candidates with atleast 60% marks in any field can apply for the examination.

5. Final year students can also apply providing the fact that he does not have any backlogs.
6. Any candidate who has failed earlier in PABT or he is a suspended flight cadet cannot apply for the examination.

AIMT 2009 Army Institute of Management Test
Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) established Army Institute of Management in Kolkata and this institute conducts examinations each year for the students who want to become master of business administration. The institute was specially set up for the students whose parents are in army. AIMK is however regarded as one of the top most B schools in India infact it falls under A category of business schools.
Important dates of AIMT
1. 15-09-09 – last date to submit the evidence for the students appearing in the final year.
2. 16-09-08 – date of IIM CAT examination.
3. 14-07-08 to 08-08-08 – availability of CAT forms from axis banks
4. 05-09-08 – deadline for the receipt of CAT forms.
5. 04-08-08 – availability of AIMK forms along with prospectus.
6. 06-12-08 – deadline for receipt of forms by AIMK.
Eligibility criteria of AIMT
1. The candidate seeking admission must have bachelor degree with atleast 50% marks in the qualifying examinations.
2. Those candidates who will appear for their final year exams can also apply to AIMT.
3. For the students seeking admission under the army category, they can look for the detailed eligibility criteria in the admission bulletin. Please note that students must submit the certificate and the para and sub para number under which they are eligible under the army category.
Selection procedure of AIMT
1. All the candidates seeking admission must appear for IIM CAT.
2. Depending upon the performance in the CAT examination the candidates will be short listed and will be called for further selection process.
3. For the final selection, the shortlisted candidates will be called to AIMK for group discussions and personal interviews.
4. The candidates who clear GD and PI rounds are the finally selected candidates.
SSC Admission Test in Indian Air Force 2009
This is to inform you all adventurous and thrill seeking people out there that Indian air force is recruiting men and women to join the operation support group (ground job) as permanent or Short Service Commissioned Officers.
Important dates:
1. 13-08-08 – last date for receipt of applications.
2. 30-11-08 – CET date.
3. July-09 – commencement of training
Eligibility criteria:
The foremost criterion is that the candidate should be Indian.
If a candidate wants to get in Administration & Logistics then he/she should be a graduate or PG in Science /Commerce / Arts /Management / Engineering or LLB with atleast 60% for gradates and 50%marks for PGs.
If a candidate wants to get in Meteorology then he/she should be a PG Science / Geography /MCA with atleast 50%marks.
If a candidate wants to get in Accounts then he/she should be a graduate or PG in Commerce or IOWA l CA with B Com / M.Com with atleast 60% for gradates and 50%marks for PGs.
If a candidate wants to get in education then he/she should be a PG in English /Defense Studies /Psychology / Mathematics /Physics /Statistics / Computer Science / Management or M Ed after PG or PhD with atleast 50%marks.
The minimum height for male candidates is 157.5cms and that for female candidates is 152cms.
The age limit of graduates is 20 to 23 Years and for Post Graduates OR LLB is 20 to 25 Years and for M.Ed / PhD is 20 to 26 Years.
Application procedure:
The candidates need to send in a hand written or printed application on an A4 size paper following the same format as given via normal post.
Write the name of courses opted and the centers applied for.
Along with the application you also need to send in two self addressed envelopes with Rs.27/- stamps and two unattested passport size colour photos.
