CST 2009 C-DAC Competence in Software Technology Examination
Competence in Software Technology Examination is an examination conducted by C-DAC (The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing), Mumbai along with many other organizations and bodies which include Scientific R&D Institution of Govt. of India, Dept. of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and information Technology. This examination is conducted for the graduates from any field to pursue education in the field of software technology.
Eligibility criteria for CST
1. The appearing candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or a diploma in any field from any university recognized by central government.
2. The candidates in the final year of their bachelor’s degree examination can also apply but they will be required to show the proof of the completion of degree at the time of admission.

Rajasthan Pre Medical Test is an examination conducted each year for admission to the various medical courses affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur. IIM admission tests may go online
The government said Monday, moving on a line to allow tests to the Indian Institute of Management (IIMS), similar to that of USA, as investigations GMAT and GRE, for use with the general number of students for examination each year.
In a written reply to Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandeswari said the Presidential Committee commissions approved by the Commission IIMS-CAT group had recommended for schools the opportunity to perform online CAT has been done in the case of the GMAT and GRE.
Ms. Purandeswari also informed the House of governbment not propose to extend this scheme to various examinations, an all-India.

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), being built on the shores of the Red Sea - is expected to open in September 2009. It is billed to become a global centre of scientific centre and human advancement. The under-constmc-tion institution has 570 Indian applications in progress, says a press release. New Web site creates one-stop shop for online college classes in Georgia
A new will provide those seeking a distance-learning experience with a searchable database of online courses and programs at all of Georgias 35 public colleges and universities.
The site allows potential students to find out what courses are offered across the system, as well as easily compare courses and programs to find the best fit for them, said Kris Biesinger, associate vice chancellor for information and instructional technology services for the University System of Georgia.
Previously, interested students would have to visit each institutions Web site and search for its distance education programs.

A three-day training programme on safety in constructions, held specifically for building workers, was conducted by the Building Technology Centre of Anna University and the College of Engineering, Guindy. The course ended on Friday, and certificates were handed over to all the participants during the valedictory ceremony.
Thirty participants, including building site supervisors, masons and contractors, took the course, which was conceptualised to address the increase in the number of construction site accidents and deaths.
The special course, conducted in Tamil, it saw a number of eminent lecturers from various institutions, including IIT-Madras, addressing participants.

Come November and the School of Open Learning (SOL), Delhi University (DU), will launch its welcome gift for the new batch of students enrolling in the BA programme for 2007-08 - a 24-hour query helpline via e-mail and mobiles.
One guest faculty member will be appointed as counsellor and instructor for a group of 20 students, informs H C Pokhariyal, executive director, SOL. He adds, “The basic need for any education system is the availability of teachers who can devote time to students. Distance learning is coming up as an alternative to regular classes as there are many students who do not get admission to regular courses.”
The idea emerged from the SOLs interaction with the open universities in the UK. Admitting that distance learning in foreign countries has upgraded to a level where it can compete with the regular education system, Savita Dutta, director, SOL states, “We have invited experts from the UK to help us improve our distance education methodology.”
