TNPSC 2008 Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission was set up in 1923 and since then the last 75 years have been glorious for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Each Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission examination is held for admission to various courses and this time the exam is conducted for admission to the post of Horticultural Officer.
Important dates:
1. 3rd week of September – availability of application forms.
2. 3rd week of October – last for the submission of completed application forms.
3. 21-12-08 – date of entrance examination and the timings will be from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The age of the candidate should be less than 30 years.
2. The age limit is upto 32 years if the candidates hold a post graduate degree.
3. There is no age limit criterion for the SC/ST candidates.
Examination pattern and syllabus:

BEE 2008 Bureau of Energy Efficiency National Productivity Council
On behalf Bureau of Energy Efficiency National Productivity Council (NPC) is the National Certifying Agency which conducts examination for the post of Energy Managers and Energy Auditors and this examination by Bureau of Energy Efficiency is national level certificate examination.

Introduction
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is conducted each year for admission to various courses in the field of Engineering /Architecture/ Technology / Medical / Dental / Veterinary and Pharmacy. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is conducted by the board of examination of west Bengal and provides admission to various universities and institutions in west Bengal.
Eligibility criteria:
1. The candidate must be of Indian nationality.
2. The candidate must also be clear pass in the class 12th examination with a PCM or PCB aggregate of atleast 40%.
3. The candidate must also have studied English upto class 12th level and should have scored a minimum of 30% marks.
4. For B.E/B.Tech./B.Arch, the candidate must have passed in PCM, English and any other fifth subject.

CST 2009 C-DAC Competence in Software Technology Examination
Competence in Software Technology Examination is an examination conducted by C-DAC (The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing), Mumbai along with many other organizations and bodies which include Scientific R&D Institution of Govt. of India, Dept. of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and information Technology. Eligibility criteria for CST

Marjorie Deane Financial Journalism Foundation
The Marjorie Deane Financial Journalism Foundation aims to promote the understanding of financial markets and institutions, and in particular to foster excellence in financial journalism. Applications are invited for studentships at a prominent British university or business school leading to a masters degree in finance or economics. A successful candidate, who must have been accepted for such course, will have some or all of his/her fees paid and will also receive a contribution towards living expenses.
Requirements: Students who have been accepted on a United Kingdom postgraduate course in econom¬ics or a similar subject; People who are unemployed or have been made redundant, and who wish to obtain vocational training in financial journalism. Applicants are not confined to people living in the United Kingdom and there are no restrictions regarding age, sex, etc. Preference will be given to applicants who can write well and who will produce a piece of research (probably based on their dissertation) that is suitable for publication.

ICSI and Ignou will be signing a MOU to offer BCom and MCom in business policy and corporate governance
ICSI-IGNOU tie-up
THE Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will be signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to offer BCom in corporate affairs and administration and MCom in business policy and corporate governance. These programmes will be conducted exclusively for students of the company secretaries course.
According to ICSI sources, students who passed 10 + 2 and have registered in the Company Secretaryship Foundation Programme would be eligible for the undergraduate programme. Graduates in any discipline or equivalent qualifications from a recognised University/ Institute and those who passed Company Secretaryship Executive Programme are eligible for the postgraduate programme. Medium of instruction would be both I English and Hindi.
N K Jain,CEO,ICSI said: The programme has been developed by Ignou in consultation with ICSI and participants would be certified by the open university on successful completion. He said that this customised UG and PG course would give an added advantage to company secretaries.
According to ICSI sources, a consolidated amount of Rs 4,000 shall be payable at the time of admission to this BCom programme. A student, once admitted, shall be admitted for a period of three years. Therefore, there would be no need to re-register for the second and third year.
The duration of the programme shall be a minimum of three years and a maximum of six years with a provision for re-admission after the completion of the maximum duration. According to Jain, IGNOU would certify students on successful completion of the programmes.
However, students who have already, passed Company Secretaryship Intermediate/Executive Programme can complete this BCom programme in a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of four years.
For the MCom programme a consolidated fee of Rs 5,000 would be charged. A student, once admitted, shall be admitted for the second year also. The student may simultaneously study MCom along with the Company Secretaryship Professional Programme.

All students enrolling this course would be given one year free ICR (UK) membership, including eligibility to give an examination and will be awarded an ICR (UK) certificate on passing the examination.
